I regret to have to inform you that the Matinee show that I had been working on will not be happening. The investor I had, had a change in his financial situation and is not able to back the show as planned. We will still do a show on May 4th, which is also our fan club meeting. The show will be at 2:00 as scheduled and is open to the public. I will continue to MC at Memories as well as perform as Dean Martin as I am needed. Other than that I will be taking shows outside of the theatre as they come up. Actually, I have been doing some private shows already. Birthdays etc.
I’m sorry for the dissappointment, but it seems at this time the door has closed for the Matinee show.
Thank you for your love and understanding and I hope to see you at the show on May 4th or any other time at Memories.
Love,
Lou

A Few Changes http://louvuto.com/blog/2013/01/20/a-few-changes/ http://louvuto.com/blog/2013/01/20/a-few-changes/#comments Mon, 21 Jan 2013 01:49:49 +0000 Administrator http://louvuto.com/blog/?p=189 Continue reading ]]> On Friday March 8th 2013 Eddie Miles will begin performing as Elvis again at Memories Theatre. As you know, Eddie worked at Memories for the first 3 and a half years the theatre was open. After he left Michael Ferarro and Dee hired Pete Wilcox. He was at Memories for about 18 months before I began doing the Elvis show in 1995. I have performed as Elvis in the Smoky Mountains for over 17 years. Many of you may remember about 6 months ago I wanted to find another performer to do the Elvis portion of the show. I had several reasons but two reasons were: (1) I wanted to have more time to devote to some of my Church functions. And (2) I guess I felt like I wanted a break. You see, for seventeen years I didn’t feel comfortable taking any time off while the show was going on. For many years I never missed a show with one exception in 2000 when I really wanted to attend my High School Reunion. So I took a day off. It wasn’t until the last several years that I began taking time off for some Church functions as well as some road shows. As many of you know I had another Elvis fill in for at those times. Really I never felt comfortable because when I returned I would find out that some ticket holders had canceled because I wasn’t there and Dee wasn’t all that thrilled with the show while I was gone. I’m not cutting on anyone, the simple fact is that many people get used to one person and usually don’t like a change. Everyone who ever filled in for me did a wonderful job. So, anyway, I felt like after 17 years I wanted a break for these and other reasons. When Dee decided to reopen the old theatre, she asked that I put my matinee show on hold and remain doing Elvis, at least until we were re-established on the parkway. I agreed to do so. Recently, I was on a trip to Florida and Eddie had stopped in to see Dee. They talked and Eddie offered to take the Elvis show back over. He felt like he could not only do a good job, which I agree with, but that he could also help bring in more people. Dee listened but her main concern was how I felt about it. When I returned from Florida she presented the idea to me and said that If didn’t approve this, she wasn’t going to do it. She felt that it was a good idea but she didn’t want to hurt me in any way. I must admit, at the moment she told me, I didn’t feel like I wanted to give up the Elvis show. I think because I had gotten my head back into it and it was a bit of a shock. Although I felt like I didn’t want to give it up, I also didn’t feel like I should hold her back from doing something that she felt would help her business. See, she also told me that she didn’t want me to leave, so I wouldn’t be out of a job, which I thought was very kind of her. And she said if I wanted to continue to develope my matinee show, that she would make that easy for me and even help me. So, I agreed to the arrangement. As I said, honestly I had a hard time the first few days but as I continue to pray and think about it, I am excited to begin a new venture without leaving Memories. In a nut shell, that’s the background of the story. I would also like to say, I know Eddie’s fans are excited about his return and I would expect them to be, but I would hope that you would not view me as an enemy. I have always had a great respect for him and as an Elvis fan, I have always personally enjoyed his show. It’s not him against me. We both will be employees of Memories and we will both work towards the success of the theatre. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Oh, I almost forgot to tell you, besides working on my matinee show, I will be hosting and the MC of the evening show, so I hope to see you at Memories real soon. Love ya! Lou
